By supporting the project, you are allowing the 2024 camp to see the light of day. Concretely, you contribute to the financing of:
• Two clinical research projects
The stay offers the unique opportunity to answer several clinical research questions including
- The variability of bandage pressure when applied by professionals, patients and parents. Measuring pressure under a bandage is equivalent to measuring the dose of a medication that is administered. In a more fun way, we will also measure the water pressure on the legs in the swimming pool. And more than one will be surprised!
- The measurement of “self-efficacy”, that is to say the conviction of a parent, the young patient or a professional that the child is ready to take charge of himself and actively participate in the care program. It can vary between the different actors and impact care.
These questions are essential for the design and implementation of autonomy in the management of lymphedema and will help to apply the principle of compression to its greatest effectiveness.
Your donations will make it possible to carry out these studies with young people and families during their stay in order to develop clinical research on primary lymphedema!
• Self-care sessions
Your donations will also help finance equipment for the self-care sessions offered by lymphotherapists for young patients and families.
• On-site activities
Finally, your donations will help finance a manga creation workshop with a designer, an activity that we are sure they will enjoy a lot! We will also be able to offer a canoe-kayak trip to participants.
Donations are made via the Guilhem Fund: non-profit endowment fund of the Montpellier University Hospital.
